Just like songs, individuals tend to remember things they enjoy for a lifetime.
To ensure that our students enjoy what they study, we took them to the United Cement factory (Dhading) and the Get paper industry(Budhanilkantha).
Visiting the cement manufacturing plant helped the science students internalize the process of the production of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and understand the steps that need to be undertaken to produce a bag of cement.
A visit to Get paper factory helped them understand the process of paper production, ranging from pulping to packaging. Get paper factory produces paper wraps, paper ornaments, boxes and bags for many national and international companies including the Body Shop (An international cosmetic brand) and OXFAM. The industry also makes recycled paper using waste materials like cotton rags, waste paper, and agriculture waste like banana fibres, straw and water hyacinth.
